David had mostly good day. The nurse who has had the most time with him was back from her week off, and we were excited to see her again. There have been lots of changes since she last saw him, but it’s nice having some consistency and she seems to understand him really well too. He mostly behave himself, and she quickly figured out how to support him when he gets upset and holds his breath. They started some pressure support trials today, which basically allows David to exercise his lungs and breathe as if he didn’t have the breathing tube in. His first trial went for an hour and he rocked it. His second one he was a little bit on the edge, so they stopped it before it become a problem. Shortly after that, David decided he wanted more attention and held his breath and dropped his heart rate down to 30 beats per minute. He recovered fairly quickly, but since everyone had assembled in his room they decided to pace him. It was unknown if his pacer was working though.

Except for that last part of the day, we’re hoping for another uneventful day tomorrow. Overnight, they are not going to make any changes and just let him rest. They have also been advancing David’s feeds over the last couple days and sometime overnight today, he’ll reach his feeding goal and starting taking his full feeds. As for Eli and Anna – the day Eli has been patiently waiting for had arrived. After dinner, they went to the Endzone and made kaleidoscopes.

  1. Interesting way with the mashed potatoes, Eli LOL Praying for a good day for Mr. David – one with very little excitement πŸ’•

  2. I’m sure that David felt some relief with that nurse back from her vacation ❀️ I believe that there’s a lot of familiarity and comfort that goes on inside of him. Thank you God for David’s progress and for everyone on Team David. That is so awesome that Eli and Anna made kaleidoscopes today! Tell them that that is the name of my band, Kaleidoscope and that I hope he has been practicing his guitar so that he can join us for a song this summer!!! And I have an instrument in my bag that Anna could play also!!! Continued prayers for healing progress, comfort, and peace πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

  3. If Eli and Anna ever have to go to hospital, lord willing NOT, they will have all these positive experiences to remember and it will be not so scary. I can’t help but think that God sent the two older kids to help bring some normality to fall back on when the stress of David’s life get to be almost too much to handle. Prayers.
