David was pretty grumpy today. Most of the day was spent fussing if he was awake, and otherwise sleeping. Otherwise, he did not have a terribly exciting day. On his x-ray this morning, there didn’t really appear to be any changes to his lungs. Therefore, they did adjust his ventilator settings on his RAM to match his SCUBA settings. The fear is that he needs to be pushed slightly so he doesn’t get stuck where he currently is. They also decided to just give him more PRNs (one-off dosages of medications) rather than pause his auto-weans, hoping to keep him comfortable without affecting his progress.
David’s longest period of happiness occurred this evening when Eli and Anna were in his room visiting. He seemed to love their company and couldn’t get enough of them. They showed him several toys and helped read him stories. That was probably my favorite part of the day – reading stories for all of them. David has also been working on his fine motor skills when it comes to getting the tubes off his face. You have to watch his hands – especially his right hand – at all times, because he is determined to get everything off his face. After not enjoying his chair this morning, Adam got some cuddle time with David. Hopefully those cuddle times help his lungs to continue to improve.
Sweet David, Eli and Anna just want to hang out together ❤️❤️❤️ That was fantastic that they enjoyed their time👍🏻 Cuddle time is so precious and I’m so happy for you when you get that special time together❤️❤️❤️ Thank you God for your continued love and guidance and for ALL of your Blessings 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey, we all have crabby days 🙂 It is such a joy to see the three siblings playing together! My prayers continue for daily improvements.
David needs his siblings! Love that he reacts to them the most. Also love Adam’s new haircut! Looking good. ♥️
Thank you! they actually have someone come to the hospital once a month on a Friday and do free haircuts so it was nice to have it cut for the first time since at least January.
Thank you again for all your journaling, not that I understand what you are all sharing, but I can feel the love that you pour out and it is returned to you all J and K
