Not too much in terms of updates. Saw speech again and they observed another feeding and gave tips on how to keep David awake during a feeding. About an hour and a half after that though, David threw up. This was when the cardiology team was in his room during rounds. He was very upset and then did that. They continued to monitor him the rest of the day. Too many more throw ups could derail his homecoming. So far he is still on track to come home on Monday, but only if Eli and Anna are healthy. They will no discharge him if there are known illnesses at home. This afternoon Eli’s fever has broken and stayed that way, he has more energy, and his cough has slowed. We just hope Anna stays healthy, but she’s getting a cough and runny nose so we’ll see.

I was only there for the morning again, and Adam stayed for the afternoon.  Lab came by while I was there to test David’s white blood cell count. Yesterday it was a bit high, so they wanted to check those numbers today, and they were back down into the normal rang. Adam was there when David got a visit from OT. They showed Adam how to massage David’s scar and also showed him how to do tummy time. The pharmacist also came by and talked Adam through all of David’s medications, what they do and their frequency.

Since we had not heard from the home supply company yet, Adam asked about it, and I got a call a short while later. Although the order was sent in last Friday, the supply company apparently had not received it. It was resent today and calls were made, so they are aware and should be reaching out soon. We’re still on track for Monday, so hopefully we’ll have our scale, pulse oximeter, and feeding bag along with training on how to use it soon. The team is quickly trying to make sure all the loose ends are tied up and that we are comfortable and capable of taking care of David at home. I’m looking forward to having David on a more consistent schedule that we control.
