Just a quick update: David’s cath procedure has been moved up from January to next Wednesday, December 27th. His cardiologist held her mini-conference today with the various members of David’s team and other senior cardiologists to try to come up with a plan for moving forward. The plan at the moment is to be aggressive and do the cath procedure now rather than waiting until things become a problem later. This will give them an opportunity better measure the pressures in his heart via the cath since they will be able to measure the pressures directly in the heart and David will be sedated. They will also balloon the stent while they are in there and likely take more pictures. I’ll have more details after meeting with the team on Thursday.
Otherwise, so far this week, I took David to his first out-patient speech therapy. As is typical of David, he thinks it is more fun to “play opossum” as one of his speech therapists called it, and sleep rather than eat when being watched. Yesterday afternoon the home nurse came by to see him as well. Now we have two days with nothing scheduled before his appointments on Thursday. It seems so strange to have time where we are not needing to run to an appointment or having someone check up on us.
It has also been fun the last few days seeing David being able to be like a normal baby and play on the floor – happily kicking his legs and moving his arms around. Moments like that fill my heart with joy. Anna then thinks he needs some toys and soon every toy he owns is laying all around him. She adores her brother so much – she likes to give him a hug and/or his nuk when he’s crying and always wants to say goodbye to him when we bring her to school. Of course, every time Anna wants to do something with David, Eli wants to do the same. David is definitely well loved by his siblings. Hopefully no updates until Thursday now.
Love mama Anna!! We are so glad you all are having moments to relax and enjoy being together!!
Thanks for sharing the pictures. I see he still has his little bear Nuk 💕
That’s his absolute favorite thing. He also won’t take any other nuk – not even the same one without the bear. I love it when his little hands grip the bear and he cuddles it.
So, glad, he’s doing so well. With all the love and attention from his siblings, he’ll be walking, talking next Christmas so different from how he is now. At this age he has no frame of reference to know his life is any different from normal and it doesn’t hold him back from living the good life. Thank you God. Hugs and prayers 🙏 ❤️.
Eli and Anna are certainly Great role models for being a big brother and big sister.
It’s going to be a wonderful Christmas for all of you to be together. Great pictures! Thank you so much for all the updates. It’s wonderful you’re starting to get a little normalcy in your lives. Than you Lord🙏
